Ladies and gentlemen, the future has spoken. And the future says: America wants YOU.

“Terry Crews for President” is a Dark Carnival campaign song built entirely on a single joke — one that only works because the punchline is delivered completely straight. In Idiocracy, a wrestler-turned-president named Camacho realizes he’s out of his depth and hands the country over to the smartest person he can find. It’s played as satire in the film. Here, it’s played as a platform.
In five hundred years is now. They showed us where it ends. A wrestler on the throne, with a rifle and no friends.
The chorus never mocks Terry Crews himself — the joke points the other way. What gets satirized is how low the bar has fallen that “reads the briefings,” “takes advice from women,” and “admits when he lacks” sound like a wish list instead of a job description.
He would read the briefings, maybe even twice. He would take advice from women, and he would treat everyone nice.
Brass band, marching drums, a theatrical ringmaster intro, a crowd chant built for singing along — the whole thing is staged like a real rally, right down to the confetti. That’s the point: sincerity is the satire.
Terry Crews would be awesome. Thinking about really great States. Stepping aside for a smarter person. Bigger heart and lesser hate.
